Depression, fear, and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions we come to experience at some point in our lives. When we find these emotions lasting longer than a few days, weeks or becoming stronger, it is a sign there is a problem. Through therapy, one is able to recover lost motivation, gain clearer perspective, and experience fuller hope.
Many experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances. Whether the onset is due to a natural disaster, intimate partner violence, medical injury, illness, community violence, neglect or some other traumatic event; our bodies remember. It is easy to find ourselves feeling anxious, fearful, hopeless or stuck after such experiences. Using trauma informed practices, I aim to assist clients in overcoming these symptoms and journey with you through the process of grief and healing.
I consult with institutions of faith to cultivate proper response when abuse is reported. My goal is to educate faith communities, and support organizations about abuse in hopes on preventing and/or minimizing such incidents. I offer workshops to educate on mental health, managing stress, issues of abuse and healthy relationship dynamics.
It can be difficult to come into the office for individual therapy. Using HIPAA compliant "software" we are able to offer therapy via your laptop, tablet or smartphone.
I welcome you to a safe, secure and confidential setting located in beautiful downtown Princeton.
For those who desire to apply their faith in the journey to wellness, I am an ordained minister who is comfortable incorporating faith and biblical principals.
Spiritual guidance, while not therapy, emphasizes on support and encouragement. Using spiritual disciplines such as prayer, Lectio Divina, silence, listening, journaling, and the like, individuals are ushered into a deep reflection on life's experiences.
